Morningside Baptist Church has a unique opportunity, through its Deaf Department, to reach the deaf and hard-of-hearing in our community. The trained and dedicated interpreters at Morningside have as their goal the salvation and spiritual growth of all deaf.

The Deaf Ministry Director has the responsibility over the various aspects of the ministry. This includes the scheduling of the interpreting staff so that every church service is understood by the deaf through the language of signs.

As the Lord gives opportunity, the interpreters work with the deaf of our church and community by interpreting for doctors' appointments, church socials, job interviews, visitation, family counseling, and other needed services.

Morningside also furnishes transportation every summer for the deaf to travel to the Bill Rice Ranch in Tennessee for a whole week of camp and spiritual refreshment with deaf from all over the United States.
